Speed Communications approached us to help create a super cute video, to promote the independent charity Ablaze, and the incredible work they do supporting child literacy across Bristol.
our process
We’ve always wanted to make a children’s storybook come to life and here was our chance. Taking a mixed media approach with a live-action beginning and end, we designed, storyboarded and animated our hero as she travels through a whole heap of children’s books. Painterly textures are often avoided in animation, but we pulled out all the tricks to create the illustrated world for the little reader’s adventure.

We love trying out new visual styles, so this project was a great way to flex our creative muscles. The fact that it’s for an awesome cause and a great client, makes it even sweeter.
